Medication Safety Information

At ZestRx, patient safety is our top priority. Please read the following information carefully before beginning treatment with compounded medications such as Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, or other wellness-supportive therapies we offer.

Prescription & Provider Oversight

All medications available through ZestRx require a telehealth consultation and approval by a licensed medical provider. Our prescribing decisions are based on clinical judgment and your unique medical history. ZestRx does not prescribe medications without an appropriate medical evaluation.

Compounded Medications

ZestRx may offer certain medications—such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide—through state-licensed compounding pharmacies. These medications are prepared following USP <797> guidelines for sterile compounding. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, though they are commonly used when commercial options are unavailable, unsuitable, or cost-prohibitive. The FDA-approved brand-name medications—Zepbound™, Mounjaro®, Wegovy®, and Ozempic®—are manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company™ and Novo Nordisk®, respectively. ZestRx does not manufacture these products and is not affiliated with either company.

Not for Emergency Use

Our services and medications are not intended to treat acute or life-threatening conditions. In case of an emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.

Potential Side Effects & Monitoring

All medications carry the potential for side effects. Common side effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists (like Semaglutide or Tirzepatide) include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and decreased appetite. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder issues. You will receive specific safety guidance and follow-up from your provider, and we encourage you to report any concerns promptly.

Medication Use & Storage

Medications should only be used by the individual to whom they were prescribed. Do not share your prescription. Follow all storage instructions carefully, including refrigeration requirements when applicable. Improper storage may affect medication potency and safety.

Ongoing Care & Communication

ZestRx emphasizes continued communication with your care team. We recommend regular check-ins, especially during the first few months of therapy. Adjustments to your dose may be necessary based on your response, side effects, and goals.

Informed Consent

Before starting any therapy, you must review and sign an informed consent outlining risks, benefits, and alternative treatment options. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident, informed, and supported throughout your wellness journey.
